Why That'so product don't make the skin orange?

"I'm not going to end up orange?" That's a question you've probably already asked yourself! And it's quite understandable! Some self-tanners contain ingredients that pigment the skin and make it orange. Today, we explain how and why there is no risk of becoming orange when using That'so products.

Tanned but not carrot!

Until a few years ago, there was a good chance that you would end up with a carrot-coloured complexion after applying self-tanner. This was due to the combo of ingredients not yet mastered that made up the products. Today, we've come a long way and the formulations are much more natural. At That'so, we develop safe products with natural ingredients that allow you to develop a beautiful natural tan!

What is erythrulose?

Erythrulose is a molecule similar to the sugar found in most self-tanners on the market.

It penetrates to the 3rd or 4th layer of the epidermis. It would also be responsible for the orange colour!

At That'so, we have chosen not to use erythrulose in our products. Our products don't penetrate further than the 2nd layer of the epidermis, so they don't leave stains fading and don't make you finish orange!

The incredible tanning power of sugar cane

That'so self-tanners are formulated from a natural ingredient: sugar cane. Its natural tanning power gives a nice tan to the skin without making it orange and without any chemical products. Some of our products also contain Aloe Vera for its moisturizing properties.

Few rules for a natural and uniform tan?

  • The ideal is to apply your self-tanner on a depilated skin. This will allow a more uniform result
  • Exfoliate your skin before applying your self-tanner. This will allow you to remove dead skin for an even result.
  • Remember to moisturize your skin a few days before applying your self-tanner to avoid colour differences that may appear on drier areas.
